CMS 1015

Koch Refining challenged CMS to increase the efficiency of their oil cooling bundles while retaining the original footpad. The resulting finned tube bundle exhibited a heat duty gain of 25% and fit perfectly into the existing space.

Skeletons for CMS 1015, U-Tube bundles constructed with naval brass tubesheets, 3/4" O.D. (.065 wall) low fin admiralty brass tubes, carbon steel baffles and stainless steel hardware. The inner rows of the bundles incorporated a crossover tube design allowing for the placement of a greater number of tubes while maintaining TEMA minimum bend requirements.
